Ms. Blackford earned her B.S. in Mathematics in 2001 and her Sc.M. in Biostatistics
in 2003. She is currently a biostatistician in the Division of Biostatistics
in the Department of Oncology.
Ms. Blackford works on a wide variety of projects within the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center.
She collaborates with oncologists and other investigators on the design,
protocol development and analysis of clinical trials. She is also
involved in two projects within the Bloomberg School of Public Health's Center
for Clinical Trials, the National Emphysema Treatment Trial (NETT) and the
Alzheimer's Disease Anti-Inflammatory Prevention Trial (ADAPT). NETT is a multi-center randomized clinical trial
comparing lung volume reduction surgery to medical therapy alone. Visit the Center's

She is also involved in bioinformatics research, including microarray
analysis, proteomics and SNP data.
Ms. Blackford also collaborates with several faculty members within the
Division of Biostatistics on development of novel methods for design of
clinical trials and analysis of high-dimensional gene expression data.
She also continues her work with the School of Public Health's Institute
for Global Tobacco Control and Dr.
Jon Samet. They are currently collaborating with investigators from Mexico,
Brazil, China and Poland on analyzing cotinine data from smokers in these
countries.
