Active Areas of Research
Postdoctoral Positions
Available - See Announcement
The following list represents a few of the areas of research
with which our faculty are involved:
Early
developmental trial designs: studies of the
quantitative properties and design of translational clinical trials.
Dose finding clinical trials: implementation and
use of the continual reassessment method for dose finding oncology
studies. Methods for general dose finding based on optimization
of safety and benefit.
Design
and conduct of randomized clinical trials:
statistical methods for the design and analysis of multicenter trials
in oncology, surgery, and neurologic disease.
Risk prediction modeling in hereditary cancer: models for
identifying individuals at high risk of carrying disease-causing
mutation of the BRCA genes (see also
BRCAPRO)
and the HNPCC genes.
Statistical
methods for genomic analysis: models for the analysis of SAGE data,
and for identification of novel cancer subtypes using molecular
profiles.
Statistical models for medical decision
making and chronic disease simulation models.
Bayesian simulation: multilevel Bayesian models;
semiparametric Bayesian models.
